Judy Edberg Visits School Health Clinic
Former APS Board of Education Director Judy Edberg recently visited the school-based health clinic named in her honor. The clinic at Crawford Elementary School opened last year as APS’ first school-based health clinic.
Edberg helped create the clinic, which provides students low-cost immunizations, physicals, preventive dental care and other services. A brass plaque inscribed “The Judith Edberg Kids’ Clinic at Crawford” is mounted on the wall outside the clinic.
A dedicated health care advocate for students during her board term, Edberg was employed as an APS school nurse for 15 years and as a Kaiser Permanente pediatric nurse practitioner for 12 years. She developed and managed the APS Medicaid Services Program for seven years before retiring in 2005.
Edberg recently retired from the board after completing a four-year term.
