APS Approves Attendance Areas

Written by the APS Communication Department @ 10:52 am Print This Story Print This Story

East Attendance AreaAfter careful consideration, Aurora Public Schools has approved new attendance areas beginning in the 2010-11 school year. Attendance boundaries have also been established for the P-8 and high school, currently under construction on the P-20 Campus. To view a summary of the attendance area changes and maps showing the new attendance areas, click on the links below.

Last spring APS established a committee to evaluate attendance boundaries for schools in the eastern part of the district. The committee solicited feedback on boundary options at several community meetings held in October and November. APS made the attendance area decision based on community and boundary committee feedback.

APS will notify families affected by the attendance area changes this month. Beginning in January, the district will also hold a series of community meetings for families with students who will be attending the new P-20 Campus schools. The P-8 will open in August 2010 and include 9th grade students during the first year of operation. The high school will open in August 2011 with 9th and 10th grade students.
