APS Professional Learning and Development Center

APS has started construction on its new Professional Learning and Development Center located east of the ESC1 and ESC2 buildings.

The new center will allow APS to double its existing meeting and professional development space and serve the needs of all staff members. The facility meets the goal of the VISTA 2010 plan to create a “Training Center of Excellence to help teachers and administrators develop cutting-edge skills.”

The 15,000-square foot center will provide a seating capacity for 420 people. The meeting space will consist of a single large room which can be partitioned into four meeting spaces for multiple functions. The facility will also include office space for professional learning staff.

The center will cost approximately $3 million and will be funded from 2002 bond program savings and interest and capital reserve funds.
