2010 U.S. Census
Everyone in the United States must be counted in the 2010 Census. This includes people of all ages, races, ethnic groups, citizens and noncitizens. By counting our country’s population, the U.S. federal government will be able to allocate more than $400 billion to states and communities based, in part on census data. This money will be used to determine locations and needs of schools, retail stores, hospitals, new housing developments, and other community facilities.
The 2010 Census is easy, important and safe, and your participation is vital. In March of 2010, census forms will be delivered to every residence in the United States and Puerto Rico. When you receive yours, just answer the 10 short questions and then mail the form back in the postage-paid envelope provided. To learn more about the 2010 Census, visit 2010.census.gov/2010census.
