From The Principal
Dear Students, Parents, and Community Members:
It is hard to believe that we are just a few months away from warmer weather and spring break. Especially with the artic cold we have been experiencing lately. With the approach of spring we are preparing for CSAP testing, registration for the 2008-2009 school year, and implementation of the new district wide bell schedule.
CSAP is blocked for March 1st - March 21st with a detailed schedule to be released shortly. This is an important time for Hinkley High School. This test give us the opportunity to show the state how great our students are and measure our progress towards meeting AYP (Annual Yearly Progress.) I anticipate strong performances from our students due to their hard work and the instruction that they have been receiving from Hinkley staff.
Registration for the 2008-2009 school year is in full swing. Incoming 9th graders are registering in January and the first part of February, and next year 10th-12th graders will register in February with plans for schedules to be distributed to students before the end of the school year. Make sure to speak with your student and make the best class choices. Students that do not return registration packets and class requests may not receive the classes that they want due to space availability.
Next year we will be using the new unified bell schedule created by the district and the high school principals. This schedule will consist of eight (8) periods, meeting four (4) periods each day on alternating days. For example: Periods 1,3,5,7 will meet on A days and periods 2,4,6,8 will meet on B days. The schedule for the entire school year will be published by the district soon.
We are always looking for volunteers to help and welcome your feedback and comments. The school web site is a great resource that has recently been updated and has a blog that enables anyone to ask questions directly to me. Please take some time to look at our new site.
Thank you for your continued support of Hinkley High School. I look forward to seeing you soon.
Respectfully,
Peter A. Mosby Principal
