What Is Good Sportsmanship?

Good sportsmanship is when teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials treat each other with respect. Students learn the basics of sportsmanship from the adults in their lives, especially their parents and their coaches. Students who see adults behaving in a sportsmanlike way gradually come to understand that the real winners in sports are those who know how to persevere and to behave with dignity — whether they win or lose a game.

At Mrachek, we expect our students, fans, coaches and athletes to show VALOR at all athletic events. It is a privilege to attend our athletic events, a privilege to watch youngster learn on the playing field. One of the lessons taught to players is one that all spectators can follow as well-that of role modeling good GOOD SPORTMANSHIP. Unruly behavior is unacceptable in the classroom, and our gym is our athletic classroom.

Please remember, GOOD SPORTMANSHIP- Its’ the Essence of the Game. Let’s show GOOD SPORTMANSHIP at all our athletic events.

Thank you, Mrs. Jenkins

Athletic Director
