This year’s field day at Side Creek will be held on Friday, April 10th. In case of inclimate weather, Friday, April 17th will be the alternate date for the field day. Kindergarten, Ist and 2nd grades will have their field day in the morning and grades 3, 4 and 5 will have their events in the afternoon. Parent volunteers are needed for the events. | Monday, March 2nd was the 105th birthday of famous children’s author Dr. Seuss. It was also Read Across American Day all over the country and at Side Creek Elementary. District superintendent Mr. John L. Barry(pictured on the right) was among the several “guest” readers who took time out from their busy schedule to read to Side Creek Students. There were seven other gueat readers including Aurora Police Chief Oaks who read to students throughout the day. For the celebration of President Abraham Lincoln’s 200th Birthday on February 12th, Side Creek Students participated in a school-wide contest. Students had to complete a crossword puzzle containing facts about our 16th president. Pictured left are the winners of the contest. They received prizes for their winning efforts. |
