SCENES 6 & 7

  • The end of SCENE 6 provides the set up for this discussion as it is when Ms. G. gives her students the journals where they can keep their diaries.

SCENE 7 - Title: War stories

(This scene starts with Ms. G. talking with her husband.   Next, it seems to be parent-conference night.  It appears that none of the parents of Ms. G’s students show up, but Ms. G opens the cabinet and finds it full of journals.  She then reads the journals and we see some of the students’ lives.)

  • Have you ever surprised a teacher or someone else in your life by doing something good that they didn’t expect you to do?
    •  If someone asked you to write your life story, where would you start?
    • Why would anyone want to share his/her life story?
  • What would adults be surprised to know about your life as a teenager and student?
