This podcast recaps Tech. Tuesday on January 27th. The three topics on the agenda were using the i-pods (revisited), downloading the Brain Pop Jr. resource pack from Promethean Planet, and In-2-Books. A few new ideas were generated in regards to using the i-pods in the classroom. One suggestion was having older kids record text for younger students to listen to. Or, having students use the i-pod as an interviewing tool. In addition, worksheets can be added to the photo library, along with the Mondo oral language posters. Next, the Promethean Kid Club found several ways to use the Brain Pop Jr. resource pack. Check out the attached flip. Be sure to read the notes for their ideas. Last on the agenda was In-2-Books, a special partnership through e-pals. This social network has expanded the world for 42 of our students. Check out the link to In-2-Books on this blog.tech-tuesday-1-27-09.mp3

This podcast recaps Tech. Tuesday on September 9th. The topic was super charging your Science lab experience. You can do that by sheltering the lesson to make it accessible to all learners. Here are some powerful ways to do that: using the visualizer, using your laptop to create flipcharts on the spot or by using a flip from Promethean Planet, using the ActivExpressions, using videos from United Streaming and the resources from Discovery Education Science, using Netrekker, Brain Pop, Brain Pop Jr., and Enchanted Learning. tech-tuesday-9-9-08.mp3

This podcast recaps Tech. Tuesday on August 26th. We discussed two topics, i-pods and Mondo literacy materials available at One Place. First, we agreed that teachers and their educational assistants can check out an i-pod. The i-pods are bar coded, so please see Robin to check yours out. I have created a baggy with your name on it that contains an -ipod with its protective padding, a cord for charging, a pair of ear buds, a cord for syncing, and a Belkin recorder (one per grade level). On Sept. 23rd, Julie form Apple will join us for Tech. Tuesday. She will share insights and ideas about using the i-pod in the classroom. For now, just have fun using it yourself. To access the Mondo materials compiled for us by the Dept. of Instructional Technology, login to One Place. Once you have logged in, along the top you will find the link for Instructional Resources. tech-tuesday-8-26-08.mp3
