Arrival

What a trip! Ten hours on a plane. The people at Lufthansa were great. They treated us very well and we had a great trip. It was interesting to see the sun set and rise in about three hours instead of a long night. When we got to Frankfurt it was an easy trip through checking our passports and meeting our families. Most families were there but because it was a weekday some had to work so we carpooled. It was great to see Erika, our exchange teacher again. She took us back to Sasbach and got us settled into our rooms. Mrs. Mills and I are staying at a local seminary close to the school. The students went with their respective families. We spent the weekend with Erika and her family. She has a wonderful husband named Frank and two high school aged daughters, Nadine and Lara. They have been wonderful and we couldn’t ask for better hosts. Mrs. Dovas-Hudson went to Munich for the weekend with some friends and visited Dachau Concentration Camp. We spent the weekend having a trip to the farmer’s market. My favorite was the butcher who had the most wonderful bratwurst and liverwurst.  It has been rainy and cloudy but it has only really rained hard at night. What a great beginning.

Below is a picture of Sasbachwalden that we visited on Sunday (Sontag).
